Due to such a success in 2023 Gippsland Youth again invited all grade six students in East Gippsland to attend the Lakes Entrance Aqua Park for a day of fun to celebrate their last year of primary school while also forming connections with other students they may not already know last month.
Bairnsdale Secondary College year seven coordinators attended to meet their potential 2025 students, headspace was in attendance setting up a chill zone and a game zone, East Gippsland Shire and GELLEN did craft activities with the youth, VicPol was involved and there was a photo booth to make memories while Lakes Entrance Surf Lifesaving Club cooked the barbecue with Woolworths donating the bread and the Lakes Co-op donated ice.
Gippsland Youth hosted more than 250 students along with teachers and other organisations.
It was a successful day and organisers hope to be able to continue to offer this in years to come.
