In August this year, Lakes Entrance Red Cross members and other unit members joined to celebrate the 110 years of continuous service of the Lakes Entrance branch of Red Cross.
They have been operating since its formation in August 1914.
During the celebrations, awards were presented to members by past chairman of the Victorian Red Cross Anne Macarthur.
Recipients were Margaret Rawley (10-year Long Service Medal), Vivienne Clamp (First Bar to Long Service medal 20 years), Aafja Heydon (20 years), Barbara Dempster (20 years, absent), Marion Holding (Laurel Wreath 50 years plus Service Award presented by Carolyn Ratnik of Melbourne Community Mobilisation Team), together with Shirley Grove (53 years) and Val Ryan (27 years). Service from these members totals almost 200 years.
Recently, six members of Lakes Entrance Friends of Red Cross met for morning coffee at Lakes Entrance Bowls Clubs to wind up the 110 years celebrations.
