Both Lakes Entrance Cricket Club senior sides will be in action this Saturday in Bairnsdale Cricket Association action.
The Seagulls will clash with St Mary’s Nagle in “A” and “B” grade action.
The premier grade clash is to be played at the Lakes Entrance Recreation Reserve, while the minor grade clash will be conducted at Nagle College.
Winners in round one, the Seagulls will hoping to build on their outstanding start to season against one of last year’s semi finalist. Most sides are looking a little under done this time of the year, and with Nagle’s round one clash against West Bairnsdale washed out, the Seagulls will be going in blind.
You can be assured that Nagle skipper, Ricky Tatnell will be the danger man, the talented all rounder is a danger with bat and ball, coming off a season where he tied for the Bairnsdale Advertiser Cricketer of the Year with former Meerlieu star Frankie Mostert.
After working hard with the Blasters program in recent seasons, the Seagulls will have two under 13 sides in season 2024/25.
Both sides will play in division two, under the maroon and white banners.
Round one starts this Friday night with the two sides pitted against each other at St Brendans from 5pm. An entertaining evening of cricket is promised, watching the Seagull stars of tomorrow.
