Lakes Entrance Golf Club hosted the Golf East Gippsland Women’s Championships last week.
The foursomes were played on the Monday and the singles on the Tuesday.
The foursomes championship was won by the South Pines duo of Celia Wallace and Jenny Ellis with an impressive score of 77.5.
In “B” grade, Maffra’s Kaye Gallagher and Carmen Lovi were the winners, while “C” grade went to the local combination of Hayley Cotton and Lori Murray.
Gross winners were Sale’s Simone McDonald and Joanne Ballinger (“A” grade”), Pam Schaper and Helen Wood (“B” grade), with Cotton and Murray winning “C” grade.
It was a big day for South Pines’ Tania Holmes last Tuesday winning the championship with a score of 83 and picking up the “A” grade handicap event and veterans title.
There were some great results achieved by the local ladies, with Margaret MacManus (“C” grade scratch), Rhonda Beckett (“C” grade net), Judith Congalton (“D” grade) all successful.
Lakes Entrance were also successful in the teams event.
