The Old Slipway redevelopment in Lakes Entrance will be officially opened on Wednesday, July 17, at 12.30pm, with speeches and ribbon cutting.
Mayor of East Gippsland Shire Tom Crook and councillors, together with Member for Eastern Victoria Tom McIntosh, and The Slipway Collective, plus senior council officers will be in attendance.
The $1,257,097 redevelopment project of the iconic slipway site has invigorated a key piece of infrastructure and delivered a public asset for the next 20 to 30 years. It has been made into an inviting public open space in an idyllic waterfront location.
Funding for the project has been provided by the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Infrastructure Program, the Victorian Government’s Local Economic Recovery Program – Bushfire Recovery Regional Economic Stimulus and Resilience Grants Fund, COVID Safe Outdoor Activation Fund, Creative Victoria and East Gippsland Shire Council.
The community is welcome to attend and an RSVP to East Gippsland Shire would be appreciated.
