Gippsland Grammar was proud to be part of the award-winning Live4Life program, which was launched in the Wellington Shire recently.
Live4Life is the only program of its kind designed specifically for rural and regional areas and is a peer-led, community impact model that spans both suicide prevention and mental health/wellbeing education. It brings together rural and regional communities to deliver evidence-based mental health education in schools and the wider community, create local partnerships to lead conversations which reduce stigma around mental health, and also promote young leaders as Mental Health Ambassadors.
The launch included the program’s 2024 crew members presenting to their peers and announcing the annual theme, special guest speakers, live performances and fun activities promoting mental health awareness.
Gippsland Grammar students joined about 600 year eight students from other local schools across the Wellington Shire including Catholic College Sale, Sale Secondary College, Sale Specialist School, Yarram Secondary College and Maffra Secondary College, alongside representatives from local youth organisations and support networks in Wellington related to mental health and wellbeing.
