Local shooter Aislin Jones, has officially been announced as one of 10 shooters for the Australian Olympic Team for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
An official ceremony was held at the Victorian Institute of Sport last Thursday, attended by family, friends and shooting dignitaries.
It will be Jones’s second Olympics after competing in Rio in 2016, however on this occasion she will compete in two events – the individual skeet and the new mixed skeet team event with Sydney-based teammate Josh Bell.
Jones and Bell won the bronze medal at the Baku World Cup mixed skeet teams event, and are rated medal chance in Paris.
Jones was selection was confirmed after she finished on top of standings of Australian athletes after events in Brisbane, Sydney, Lilydale, Qatar and Azerbaijan.
