Lakes Books and Games, East Gippsland Library and Friends of Library Lakes Entrance recently presented author, Lisa Ireland, in conversation with journalist and children’s author, Kylie Miller.
The audience asked many questions and also enjoyed the rich conversation between the two participants.
Ms Ireland divulged many interesting aspects about being a full-time author.
Her latest novel, The Studio Girls is inspired by the real life history of The Hollywood Studio Club and is a captivating journey back to the enchanting era of the Hollywood Golden Age.
Lisa, who is now a full-time resident of East Gippsland, explained the motivation behind the novel and the research which goes into her writing.
Her other books include The One and Only Dolly Jamieson, The Secret Life of Shirley Sullivan, The Shape of Us, and the Australian bestseller Feels Like Home.
Kylie Miller co-wrote Heroes of Black Summer which is a children’s book about the 2019-2020 bushfires in East Gippsland.
It gave affected children the tools to help with the trauma of the fires.
She has had children’s books published, including Albert, The Greyhound Who Loves to Run and Teddy, The Most Beautiful Boy in the World.
Author visits are proving to be popular and thought provoking for the avid readers of Lakes Entrance and surrounds.
