Shirley Halliday turns 98 today, but had a lovely early birthday present with the arrival of her 100-year-old brother, Ted Flower, who visited her last week in Lakes Entrance.
Ted, who lives in Newcastle, made the long trip down by car with his son driving the 840 kilometres.
It had been six years since the siblings had seen each other, although they do keep in touch on the telephone.
Both Shirley and Ted are in remarkable health for their age and live independently in their own homes. Shirley stated that she takes no medication and has no aches and pains.
They enjoyed reminiscing about their childhood, family and friends and have no trouble recalling events and names.
