Lakes Entrance once again filled with happy visitors and locals on New Year’s Eve to enjoy the celebrations with crowds estimated to be much the same as last year.
Lakes Entrance Action and Development Events chairperson, Alison Brewer, said the evening was a great success.
“The fireworks at 9.30pm and midnight were spectacular and everyone seemed to be happy,” she said.
“This year we moved some of the market and food stalls onto the road which blended local shops into the area more. It also allowed extra room for those watching and listening to the bands and picnicking on the grassed area.”
Alison stated she was frustrated that there is always issues with the toilets, and this year was no exception.
“Every year there are problems with the toilets becoming blocked, this year by 5.30 pm,” Ms Brewer said.
“It is frustrating and it is time the issue was addressed properly by the council.”
The crowd enjoyed live entertainment in perfect weather conditions.
