The Summer of Surf Series has announced three Victorian events in the 2023/24 schedule, with Surf Life Saving Lakes Entrance to host the highly anticipated grand finale Victorian event on February 17 and 18, 2024.
With more than 500 athletes, the event promises to showcase not only Australia’s elite surf sport stars but also the East Gippsland region while being broadcast nationwide on 7plus.
Destination Gippsland, East Gippsland Shire Council and Surf Life Saving Lakes Entrance have joined forces in celebrating the national Summer of Surf series coming to the region. The event will both draw participants and spectators from far and wide but also serve as an economic catalyst, promoting Lakes Entrance and the region as a premier sporting destination.
The Summer of Surf event will feature a $5000 prize pool and valuable Summer of Surf series points.
In addition to the high stakes open racing, the event will host the Summer of Surf nipper clinic on Sunday. This segment aims to inspire the next generation of surf sports stars and provide young athletes the chance to meet and learn from some of their sporting heroes.
