Saturday morning saw the streets lined from Traralgon to Lakes Entrance with excited kids and adults watching the spectacular sight of nearly 300 scrubbed and polished trucks in convoy travelling through to the Great Lakes Airfield with the purpose to raise money for children’s charities.
The 2023 East Gippsland Convoy for Kids saw the most amount of money raised in the history of the East Gippsland Convoy for Kids – the official amount is yet to be announced as donations are still being received, however the previous convoy raised $70,000 and that figure has been surpassed.
This money will be divided up and given out to the three charities – Angel Flights, Ronald McDonald House and Camp Quality.
Convoy for Kids president, Tarsha Dixon, said if you read on the event’s Facebook page everyone is thanking the committee for the organisation of the event, but the committee would like to thank the transport industry and their families for their outstanding support for this event.
