Batten down the hatches!Lakes Entrance endured a unique and damaging summer storm last Friday night as wild winds and heavy rain caused chaos in the centre of town, while lightning lit up the sky spectacularly.
“It was insane,” a witness described the storm.
“The storm activity was amazing to watch off shore, the lightning was so frequent, flashing and forking, you could see the rain falling and then all of a sudden the wind picked up and swung towards town – it was madness.
“It all happened so quickly.
I knew it was pretty crazy but I didn’t expect to see so many trees and branches down.
