Every time there is a lockdown in Victoria, certain businesses has suffered more than others with no alternative way to trade.
Hairdressing and beauty salons are at the top of this list and were relieved to hear that regional Victoria could once again open up from midnight on Monday.
Mathew Evans has run his business, Mat’s Hair Factory, in Lakes Entrance for the past five years and has borne the brunt of these lockdowns.
“Lockdowns have been very challenging for all small businesses during 2021 with constant uncertainty about when you will be closed down and for how long,” Mat said.
“It has been extremely stressful, not just personally, but also for my amazing staff.
“Unfortunately in hairdressing you don’t have the luxury of pivoting your business to take away or delivery services. It means you are totally shut down.
