The owner of the Metung Hotel, David Strange, didn’t waste time in opening the doors of the popular pub, with its glamorous views over Lake King, once COVID restrictions were lifted.
Following Victoria’s fifth lockdown, Mr Strange has become familiar with the strategy in quickly reopening after each period of hibernation.
Not that he likes it. Nor does the shutdown routine fit comfortably with him, to which he has been forced to become accustomed.
“To be honest, I’m worried where we go from here,” he said on Friday morning, as hotel staff readied themselves for another busy day.
“From what I’ve read, until 80 per cent of the country is vaccinated these lockdowns will continue.
“That’s a long way off,” Mr Strange said.
