Seeds were sown for advocating for the current wave of Lakes Entrance infrastructure projects at a well attended public meeting back in late 2014.
After Lakes Entrance Action and Development Association (LEADA) was reformed it was able to build upon the ideas put forward at this meeting.
The concentration was on projects that the community had identified that would give Lakes Entrance a much-needed and overdue facelift.
These priority projects were improvements to the Esplanade and foreshore, Bullock Island, Jemmys Point lookouts and the Entrance and Krauatungalung walks.
Due to increased money being allocated to infrastructure projects by the three tiers of government as a result of the bushfire and COVID disasters, effective lobbying by LEADA and support from local politicians, particularly Darren Chester, funding has been attracted.
