Lakes Entrance Action and Development Association (LEADA) is having a combined meeting tonight at the Bellevue to form new sub committees after the Lakes Entrance Business and Tourism Association dissolved and Lakes Entrance Events approached LEADA to become a sub-committee earlier this year.
“Both groups are important to LEADA and important to this town and more importantly important to each other, being the reason we are combining the groups for this meeting,” secretary of LEADA, Alison Brewer, said.
“We are here for the future and not to dwell on the past, and moving forward we need to have committed people on a committee who have the time, energy and enthusiasm to initiate priorities with the assistance of interested parties.”
Albert and Co’s Matt O’Donnell will speak giving the perspective from a small business owner, while Lakes Entrance Events’ Aaron Young will give perspective from his former committee.
Once Matt and Aaron have spoken the floor will be open so all present can voice and discuss their views.
“By the end of the night we want committed people to form a sub committee for the business and tourism group and a sub committee for the events group, unless it is decided to combine both and only have one sub committee,” Mrs Brewer said.
“Then this sub-committee(s) can work towards improving business and tourism in Lakes Entrance.”
Anyone interested in the meeting does not need to be a LEADA member, but if they want to become involved in the sub committee then they need to join LEADA.
The meeting starts at 7pm.
