Willow Collective Boutique has been flat out making cloth face masks since the announcement by the State Government that all Victorians will need to wear them while in public.
Owner, Sharen Cameron, started making masks when it became mandatory in Melbourne and has been flat out ever since.
“I have been sourcing elastic from everywhere, I am hoping it won’t run out,” she said.
“At the moment we have a 10-day waiting list on mask orders, we have been making them night and day.”
Karen Dettering, from Stitches ‘n Things, does not make masks, but supplies materials needed to do so.
“It has been manic, I have sold 8000 metres of elastic in the past 10 days,” she said.
“I do have a pattern and tutorial on how to make masks on my Facebook page.
“I think it was sprung on regional Victorian people quite suddenly,” she said.
