Many Lakes Entrance businesses have spoken positively about the quality and speed of construction by the crew employed by Regional Roads Victoria to upgrade the footpaths and parking in Lakes Entrance.
Businesses have been impressed by the consideration they have given to minimise disruption and customer access.
Alison Murphy, from the Central Hotel, is very happy with the look of the new path.
“If there was ever a time to do it, now is it,” Alison said.
“They gave us the choice to construct the path in stages and maintain access or just get it all done at once.
“We decided to get it all over and done with quickly and were impressed that it only took them one and a half weeks to completely finish.
“The workers accommodated us well,” Alison said.
Owners of Lakes Entrance Newsagency, Kelly Douglas and Jodie Naylor, couldn’t be happier with the look of the new path or the workers who constructed it.
“They were really helpful and went out of their way to make sure we were happy,” they said.
“They are the best road workers we have seen in a long time. They turn up before 7am and as soon as they are there they are into it.”
Jodie and Kelly love the new look streetscape.
“It wasn’t safe the way it was and the whole street looks great, it makes it look so consistent,” they said.
Jock McGinty, from Bloody Good Coffee, couldn’t speak highly enough of the improvements.
“Fantastic, brilliant, I just really like the look of the new pavement, the finish is excellent,” he said.
“They are the best contractors I have ever worked with.
“They were always checking with us and the whole crew were wonderful, from management down.
“It is all very refreshing,” he said.
