Lakes Entrance police were kept busy over the Easter long weekend ensuring people complied with COVID-19 restrictions.
While the town itself was extremely quiet, police said there had been a lot of noncompliance with people oblivious to, or disregarding, the rules that banned travelling around to friend’s places.
While the majority of locals were deemed to have been doing the right thing, there is a small group, known to police, who continually flout the rules.
On Easter Sunday night, Lakes police issued nine tickets during an eight-hour shift.
Meanwhile, police are appealing to the public to dob in motorists who are driving vehicles without having number plates displayed.
Police say there has been a rise in vehicles evading police and taking off at speed, but are difficult to track because of the absence of number plates.
