Lakes Entrance police will be out in full force for the Omeo District Football Netball League grand final at Swan Reach this Saturday, August 25.
Working with the league and competing clubs Bruthen, Swifts Creek, Lindenow South, Omeo Benambra and Swan Reach, the large police presence will ensure that it is an enjoyable day for everyone.
Acting Senior Sergeant, Matt Jenkins, of Lakes Entrance Police said he wanted to make sure “unruly behaviour” was stamped out and the event was incident free.
“No alcohol is to be brought into the ground, but there will be an area where patrons can purchase and consume alcohol,” Acting Snr Sgt Jenkins said.
Police said recent issues at football matches had led to stricter rules being imposed.
Security will also be present on the day.
Bruthen takes on Swifts Creek in the senior football grand final while Lindenow South takes on the Bulldogs in the “A” grade netball decider. Action kicks off at 11.45am.
Lakes Entrance’s under 14 Maroon team will play Orbost Snowy in the Bairnsdale and District Junior Football Association grand final on Sunday at Bairnsdale City Oval.
