Lakes Entrance’s under 15 team has earned another shot at premiership favourite Wy Yung after a sensational East Gippsland Junior Football Association preliminary final performance last Sunday at the Bairnsdale City Oval.
The Seagulls outclassed Lindenow, cruising to a staggering 105-point victory set up by an impressive 12-goal-to-two effort in the first half.
Lochie Yates led the way up forward in a best-on-ground performance, finishing the match with seven goals. He was well supported by Jeremy Rotheram, who kicked four, Cooper Kennedy, who snagged three, and Reide Ymer and Henry Lothian, who slotted two each.
Yates was joined in the best players in a dominant team performance by Rotheram, Cohen Kleinitz, Patrick McGinty, Harry Strong and Lothian.
The Seagulls will play unbeaten ladder-leader Wy Yung at the Bairnsdale City Oval on Sunday at 2.30pm for ultimate glory.
They will go in as underdogs, having been defeated by 24, 31, and 37 points in the two club’s three meetings this season. However, grand finals can always throw up an upset result.
The Seagulls’ under 11 team will also be involved on Sunday, playing exhibition matches against Lucknow (11am) and Wy Yung (11.40am).
