Clear skies and calm conditions greeted 47 participants along the Esplanade on Saturday morning for the weekly Lakes Entrance parkrun.
The five-kilometre event welcomed five first-timers and saw seven runners record personal best performances.
Highlighting the morning was a blistering run from teenage first-timer Kelly Megan, who lit up the course with a winning time of 16 minutes and 19 seconds — placing him just shy of the course record shared by Eric Ueda and Xavier Chapman (16.06).
Lisa McGregor was the first female finisher across the line, posting a time of 24.20.
Personal best times were registered by James Murphy (22.09), Craig Savory (23.19), Andrew Haug (25.58), Chloe Waller (31.21), Naomi Silver (33.37), Jade Elliott (34.07) and Reuben Dsilva (35.35).
A total of 16 athletic clubs were represented on the day, including Lakes and District Runners, TXR Runners, the Australian Ultra Runners Association, East Gippsland Runners and the Southern Peninsula Sporting Club.
The Lakes Entrance parkrun departs from the Esplanade Rotunda at 8am every Saturday. The free, community event welcomes runners, walkers and volunteers of all ages and abilities.
