Yarram Secondary College’s annual Athletics Carnival was met with a late reprieve from the weather, with sunshine breaking through just in time for a 9am start.
Despite a challenging early forecast, the school’s Sports and Leadership team ensured conditions were comfortable for competitors, setting up fire pits, additional marquees and indoor break spaces to support students throughout the day.
Students competed in high spirits as the Sharks, Eagles and Falcons battled for the House Shield across a range of track and field events, with the Sharks ultimately taking out the title.
House leaders Emily and Monnie, vice captains Sydney and Aroha, and House Leader Jack Collins were recognised for their leadership and encouragement.
Values Awards were presented to Ruby Brett, Scarlote Guenther, Lars Millier, Thomas Bragg, Isaac Dron, Lily Lucas, Seth Chandler, Will Cook and Alexis Ireland for demonstrating Commitment, Empathy and Integrity.
