A Lakes Entrance woman is trading the East Gippsland chill for beachside bliss after discovering she won $100,000 in the latest Lucky Lotteries draw.
The local resident held the first prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 11069, which was drawn on Friday, April 17.
When an official from The Lott called to confirm the windfall, the winner was initially hesitant to pick up the phone.
“I nearly didn’t answer because I didn’t recognise the number,” she admitted.
Upon hearing the news, the woman burst into screams of joy, exclaiming, “Did I really just win $100,000? Woo-hoo, that’s excellent.”
The win has provided an immediate solution to the family’s travel dilemma. The resident explained that while she and her husband had been dreaming of a getaway to Queensland, financial pressures had kept those plans on hold.
“We’ve been wanting to visit Queensland but with fuel prices, we weren’t sure we’d be able to,” she said.
“We’re going on a holiday now. Yeehaw.”
The winner described the experience as overwhelming and said her husband was already eager to share the news with their family.
The winning entry, consisting of two random numbers, was purchased via The Lott app.
While this local winner has claimed the first prize, the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize has now climbed to $2.19 million for the next draw, while the Mega Jackpot prize sits at $1.48 million.
