Therapy dogs will be a highlight of the Playful Paws site at this year’s East Gippsland Field Days.
Playful Paws is passionate about creating positive experiences for dogs and their family, fostering happy, well-behaved companions who are ready to enjoy all life has to offer.
During the field days staff will use various dogs to highlight, obedience, training and other dog training programs.
The company’s dog training services cater to dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperaments, ensuring they develop the necessary skills to thrive in various environments.
Whether people are seeking group classes, private sessions, or assistance dog training, experienced dog trainers are dedicated to helping dogs achieve their best.
Based in McLeod St Bairnsdale, Playful Paws offer Doggie Daycare, where dogs can socialise, play, and learn in a safe and engaging environment.
For puppies needing extra attention, the Puppy Kinder provides tailored care and training.
The aim is always to bring out the best in puppies and dogs through classes and dog training sessions.
Classes can be mixed with other participants or one on one depending on the individual needs of the dogs and their owners.
Proprietor Meg Hopman follows behavioural science and believes in building the dog’s trust and respect by rewarding the behaviour the owner wants.
The more you reward the behaviour the more they will show it.
“We reward our dogs for behaviour we like using food, play and attention,” Meg said.
“If the dog does something we do not like, we examine why the behaviour is occurring and either fix the cause or train a more appropriate behaviour.”
