Metung Yacht Club held its annual Sail Past for 2026

on New Year’s Day, attracting a colourful display of

watercraft and creatively dressed crews.

In the best-dressed yacht category, the finalists were Harmony, Sail La Vie, Mainstream and Saffron. The winners were the crew on Mainstream, owned by Michael Ashton, who looked resplendent as T-Rexes aboard the vessel.

The best-dressed motorboat award saw finalists White Pointer, Blond Bay, Paddy McCann and Leilani. Blond Bay, owned by Rick and

Jenny Robertson, took out the prize with a magnificent display of sunflowers on

the craft.

In the best-dressed crew category, it was impossible to go past the team on Porridge and Glamour, all impressively dressed as cowboys and cowgirls. The junior award was claimed by the family of Will and Sammi Strange, with everyone dressed as clowns.

The day concluded with club members enjoying time back in the clubroom, making it a memorable New Year’s Day for all at the Metung Yacht Club.

The best dressed yacht crew was the team on Mainstream, dressed as T-Rexes.
In the best dressed motor boat and crew, the winning craft was Blond Bay, with a garden of sunflowers.
