There was no change to the top four in Gippsland Bowls Region midweek pennant after round nine, with premiership favourite Lakes Entrance regaining its composure.
The top side and reigning premier was quickly back on the winners’ list after last week’s glitch at the hands of Stratford.
Lakes scored a hard-fought clean sweep (61-47) against Metung, which was desperate to claim the win and impose itself on the top four at the Metung Bowling Club.
Lakes was led to victory by the competition’s highest rated combination, Wallace Mason, Jack Light, Bill Rowley and Kevin Brown, who were victorious 24-18 despite conceding five shots on the final two ends.
Mike McKay, Jenny Dowie, Jim Northe and Kevin Dowie had all the answers late when challenged, winners 19-12.
Eric Spence, Margaret Brandhoj, Sharon Hall and Joanne Martin held on to win 18-17 despite losing the final three ends.
