The holidays are a time for celebration, treats, and quality time with loved ones – but they can also throw even the best habits off track. This month’s Go Get It Gippy focus isn’t about restriction or perfection, it’s about finding balance and maintaining your
health while still enjoying the festive season.
Small, practical strategies can make a big difference.
Plan ahead: know when social events are coming up, and think about meals and snacks in advance.
Include protein and vegetables with every meal — even a festive plate benefits from a foundation of nutrients.
High-fibre, high-protein snacks can help keep your energy stable and prevent overdoing indulgent treats.
Movement doesn’t need to be intense or time-consuming.
Even a 30-minute family walk, dancing to holiday music, or backyard games counts as activity and helps support energy, mood, and digestion.
Hydration is key too — water between alcoholic drinks, herbal teas, and sparkling water can help you feel your best.
To make this even easier, we’ve created a mini habit tracker for the holidays:
– Three balanced meals per day (protein + veg)
– Two snacks per day (high-protein/fibre)
– 30 minutes of movement
– Hydration target met:- 2L per day
– 10 minutes of “me-time”
Ticking off these small wins each day gives you structure without restriction and keeps you feeling in control.
The holidays are for enjoying life — plan, move, nourish, and take care of yourself.
With a little awareness and a mini habit tracker, you can celebrate the season while supporting your health, energy and wellbeing.
