The newly elected committee of the Lakes Entrance Action and Development Association (LEADA) has extended warm Christmas wishes to the community, acknowledging the support of residents, volunteers and local businesses throughout the year.
To kick off the festive season, LEADA is hosting a Late Night
Shopping event this Thursday, December 11, from 6pm to 8pm, giving locals and visitors the chance to enjoy an early-summer evening while supporting town traders. Shops along the Esplanade and Myer Street will stay open, offering Christmas specials, gift ideas, and
a festive atmosphere.
Children will be able to meet Santa, with photo opportunities adding to the family-friendly fun. Shoppers are also encouraged to explore the town’s cafés, restaurants and take-away outlets, helping to support the wider local economy during the busy holiday season.
Participating businesses include Hooked on Craft, Lakes Books and Games, Bulmers Gifts, IGA, Chocky Sweetbox, Footbridge Mini Golf, Lakes Riviera Amcal Pharmacy, Surf Shack, and many more, with additional shops expected to join.
“LEADA encourages visitors to stroll the full length of the town to discover everything Lakes Entrance has to offer this Christmas,” president Sharen Cameron said.
Looking ahead, LEADA’s committee is planning a full summer program of events designed to create a lively, family-friendly atmosphere.
“From foreshore festivities to community gatherings and opportunities for local performers, the program aims to support local businesses and give visitors more reasons to stay, explore and enjoy the
town,” Sharen said.
“We’re is also inviting volunteers to assist with upcoming events. Even small contributions — from an hour of help on event day to assisting with setup or pack down — can make a significant difference. Residents can find more information or get involved via LEADA’s website and social media.
“As the town gears up for the festive season, the committee wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and looks forward to celebrating a vibrant Summer in Lakes Entrance with the whole community.”
