Christmas is upon us once more and with that it is time to start decorating Lake Tyers Beach township.

This is the second year the

Light Up LTB community group will be decorating the Lake Tyers Beach area.

“We have already put out the Christmas panels, the colourful candy canes, and the pallet Christmas trees and solar lanterns will be distributed this weekend,” Avis Salisbury from the community group said.

“We have extended the area which we are decorating, and it will now encompass Lake Tyers Beach Road from the Lakes Beachfront Holiday Park to the Lake Tyers Beach Tavern,

Bream Road to Warfe Drive,

and Gully Road.”

This year, with the ongoing theme ‘Let’s Light Up LTB for Christmas’, the group has a competition where the residents decorate their homes in the Christmas spirit. Decorating can start at any time, with judging being completed by December 21.

There are prizes for the first, second and third place getters. The homes will be judged by two members of the Light Up LTB community group and two members of the Toorloo Fire Brigade, being Captain Melissa Zagami and Lt Dino Zagami.

“Good luck to all those who choose to participate and we hope the community will enjoy the decorations,” Avis said.

The collie dog with Santa hat and sunglasses has been getting plenty of positive feedback. (PS)
