A massive win at home has seen reigning premier Lakes Entrance re-establish a one-game buffer on top of the Gippsland Bowls Region midweek pennant ladder after seven rounds.
Lakes outclassed the winless Lindenow, 70-35, in a one-sided clean sweep last Tuesday.
Things remain tight on the table, apart from Lakes, with just seven points separating second-placed Metung and seventh-placed Sale, who dramatically dropped from third courtesy of the bye.
Lakes’ biggest winners were Mike McKay, Jenny Dowie, Jim Northe and Kevin Dowie, 28-10, finishing with a bang, picking up six shots on the final end.
Wallace Mason, Jack Light, Bill Rowley, Kevin Brown (21-11) and Eric Spence, Margaret Brandhoj, Sharon Hall and Joanne Martin (21-14) also made light work of the opposition.
In division two, the unbeaten Lakes Entrance 2 went on their winning way, winning the local derby at the Orbost Bowls
Club, 65-51.
David Hocking, Jacinta Wilson, Peter Spark and Samuel Berlingeri were again easy winners again, 22-17, as were Michael Bratt, Carol Hurren, John Hurren and Peter Alves-Veira. (25-14).
Lakes Entrance 3 dropped from third to fifth after losing to Paynesville, 58-49, despite winning two of the three rinks.
Julie Rowe, Robert Wilson, William Gilbert and Peter Howie again successful 18-16, as were Dawn Irwin, Joseph Hales, Charles Lesiw and Greg Bertram (19-17).
Unbeaten division three outfit, Lakes Entrance 4 continued their golden run, this time at the expense of the winless Lakes Entrance 5, clean sweeping 55-32.
The competition’s leading combination, Ian Gray, Suzanne Light, Stephen Adams and Ross Irvine again leading from the front
29-16 victors.
Almost as impressive were Max Towan, Ernie Smith, Margo Short and Rhonda O’Neill.
