Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester has congratulated Stu and Jo Taylor, the husband-and-wife team behind Infusa Distillery, for their achievements and contribution to Gippsland’s growing food and beverage industry.
During a visit to Infusa’s current base at Maffco in Maffra, Mr Chester met with the Taylors to discuss the business’s expansion plans and their ongoing commitment to showcasing Gippsland’s world-class produce.
“Infusa is one of Gippsland’s great success stories — a business built on innovation, collaboration and local pride,”
Mr Chester said.
“Stu and Jo have turned their passion for quality spirits into a thriving enterprise that’s now earning recognition at both state and national levels.”
Infusa recently achieved outstanding results at the Melbourne Royal Australian International Spirits Awards, receiving a silver medal for its Whey Vodka, and bronze medals for its Signature Dry Gin, Logger’s Cut Whey Vodka, and Cappuccino Liqueur.
The distillery was also named a 2025 Gippsland Business Awards finalist in the Food and Agribusiness category and nominated for the Latrobe City Business Chamber People’s Choice Awards.
Mr Chester said Infusa’s strong partnerships with other local producers set it apart within the industry.
“Infusa proudly sources ingredients from right here in Gippsland — whey from the Maffra Cheese Company, coffee from Fat Cat Coffee Roasters, and strawberries from The Berry Dairy — to create distinctive spirits that reflect the best of our region,” Mr Chester said.
“Their success is not just a win for Infusa, but for the entire Gippsland economy.
“Local businesses working together help create jobs, strengthen supply chains, and enhance our reputation as a premium food and beverage destination.”
Infusa is continuing to expand, with plans to relocate to a new home in Traralgon later this year.
“Small businesses like Infusa are at the heart of Gippsland’s economy,” Mr Chester said.
“They showcase our region’s creativity, resilience and innovation on the national and international stage, and I congratulate Stu and Jo on their continued success and contribution to our community.”
