Messages of congratulations have been received by Lakes Entrance Secondary College team for their fantastic results at the Victorian Solar Car Challenge held at Scienceworks in Melbourne recently.
As part of the term three co-curricular program, students built their own solar cars, and all that hard work paid off.
From more than 40 competing cars, one of LESC teams finished third overall in the Sheridan Kit Car category, and another finished fifth in the same category.
LESC also received the Most Herculean Effort Award, a well-deserved recognition for the distance the students travelled to take part in this event.
Year seven student Jacob Stanley and year eight student Caleb Grizic managed and raced the cars throughout the day, while Shane Patton and Zeppelin Allan provided work behind the scenes in preparing the cars.
The college thanked Mr Smith, who ran the co-curricular activity, organised the trip and attended the event, and to Mr Sami for driving the team to and from Melbourne and providing great support on the day.
