It was a huge weekend for the Lakes Entrance Amateur Basketball Association, winning four grand finals at the annual Morwell Basketball Association tournament.

Matches were played over two days in Churchill, Traralgon and Morwell, with the Pelicans represented by a massive 14 teams.

It was great to see a huge contingent of supporters court side cheering for the players, coaches and officials.

The under 19 boys were victorious in the decider over Foster, a fitting reward for an unbeaten campaign, while the under 16.1 boys were too strong late, beating the home side by five points in a close match.

Lochie Yates (17 points) and Oscar Mann (10) were standouts in the victory.

In the under 12.1 boys, the Pelicans were easiy victors all weekend, culminating in

a 13-point grand final win

with Beau Russell sensational in the decider, helping himself

to 25 points.

The under 10 girls played some of the most entertaining basketball of the weekend, proving too good for Traralgon in the finale.

Morwell Basketball Association under 19 premiers, Lakes Entrance, Charles O’Byrne, Bill Prior, Lachlan Carey, Zane Delaney, Kye Piper and Callum Lyon, with coaches Grant Balintong and Jason Whelan. (PS)
