Harmony Bunn is only seven years old but that has not stopped her thinking of others and wanting to help them.
She approached her mother Maxine stating that “she wanted to raise money for kids that need things.”
“I wanted to help people so they have money for Christmas presents and food,” Harmony said.
She worked tirelessly for three days getting items from around the house like bubble wands, toys and leftover birthday party bag toys.
She put her sister, Daejah-rose, to work and made boys and girls lucky dip bags.
“This was before the school holidays and she nagged me to know when she could do her shop,” Maxine said.
“It was the holidays, then it was raining, then we were moving house, but finally I said let’s do it.
“She was absolutely beaming that she was finally able to set up shop.
“Harmony and her helper Daejah-rose braved the cold one afternoon out the front of Gumnuts Outside School Hours Care Lakes Entrance to sell all the items they had gathered.
“They sat there for over three hours working hard to sell almost everything in the shop.”
Harmony is in grade two at Lakes Entrance Primary School and many of the teachers, parents and children supported them.
“We would like to thank Gumnuts OSHC for being so supportive and accommodating, helping with advertising and letting them set up outside the building,” Maxine said.
Maxine and her girls have had experience with support from Lakes Entrance Neighbourhood House so decided to give back by donating the proceeds of sales to them.
“I am so proud of Harmony for taking time out to help others and how she focussed to get the job done,” Maxine said.
