The weather is cold and the days are short but the competition rolls on at the Lakes Entrance Golf Club with player numbers holding up well.
Norm Backman turned the clock back at Ruthless and Toothless, winning “A” grade, after shooting an impressive 39 off the stick.
Marg Rowe won Young and the Rest of Us by a shot from the consistent, Lorna Tiziani.
Wednesday’s was a medley stableford which attracted 21 players, Lori Murray the overall and “B” grade winner with 39 points, while the inform Renee Percival took out “A” grade with 36 points.
Surprisingly Percival didn’t win a nearest the pin, despite her consistent round, with Murray, Di Dickson and Brenda Wall (twice) taking them home.
Thursday’s 4BBB aggregate attracted 68 players, with Greg Hayes and Ian Broom winning on countback from the proven pairing of Robert Sperring and Shane Sproule, with both duos scoring 69’s.
Justin Gray and Terry Williams finished third, on the same score.
Garry Jeal returned to form on Saturday, having a day out, nailing 41 points, winning “B” grade overall, just from “A’ grade player, Garry Watson, who was equally as impressive carding 40 points.
Graeme Wells was pretty happy with himself, winning “C” grade with 37 points.
Marg McManus played a great round in the ladies stableford event, putting superbly on the way to 39 points, which sealed her victory, in “B” grade and overall.
Percival was again to fore in “A” grade grinding out 34 points and picking up the oblatory one nearest the pin.
