Fifty-one members and visitors attended the June meeting of Lakes Entrance Garden Club on a cold winter’s day.

Mark Tregellas was the guest speaker and what an interesting and entertaining talk he gave about his career as a remote area police officer for 26 years.
A born story teller he entertained us with some of his weird, wonderful and utterly hilarious stories.
His three daughters asked him to write down all his police stories – this became the book Backup is Three Hours Away – but he never thought it would be published. The first edition sold out in three weeks and was accepted for adaptation into a television series. Now the book is in its fourth print run.
The June Outing was to Nowa Nowa with a walk along the water with an interesting commentary. Lunch was enjoyed at the renovated Mingling Waters cafe/bar.
The July meeting is on Monday, July 21, at 1.30pm Mechanics Hall, (near the library) Mechanics Street, Lakes Entrance.
