Mariners are being advised that on Saturday, June 14, a four wheel drive vehicle accidently drove into the Tambo River at the Johnsonville boat ramp.
The driver was rescued, but the 4WD floated some 400 metres downstream from the ramp where it sank to the bottom in approximately six metres water depth.
Gippsland Ports has marked the approximate position with a Danger Buoy.
It is estimated that there will be a three metre minimum water depth over the vehicle.
Salvage arrangements of the vehicle are unknown at this stage.
Any sightings of the vehicle should be reported to Gippsland Ports.
