The weather might be cooling off as winter arrives, but there are still plenty of members keen to play in the weekly events at the Lakes Entrance Golf Club.

Last Tuesday in Young and the Rest of Us, Karen Nicholas was the winner with a score of 39, finishing just in front of Betty Martino.

Ruthless and Toothless saw 38 players tee up, Paul Mifsud striking the ball well, to win “A” grade, while Allan Taylor made every post a winner in his “B” grade victory.

Renee Percival was back to her best, winning “A” grade in the weekly ladies event, with Marlene Holmes finishing strongly to take “B” grade.

Thursday’s medley stableford event, which attracted a solid field of 76 players, saw “C” grade player John Melrose the overall winner with 37 stableford points.

In “A” grade classy left Jamie Coates prevailed, with Ivan Hamilton returning to form to win “B” grade.

Corey Schreuders had a day to remember on Saturday, finishing with a sensational 43 points, which easily won “B” grade and the overall event.

Barry Brand was victorious in “A” grade, while Allan Lawson continued his good recent form to take “C” grade.

The ladies’ event was dominated by Di Gray, whose 41 points won both “B” grade and overall with Di Dickson the “A” grade winner.

Club champion Renee Percival won all four nearest the pins in her solid 36 point round, which lost on countback to Dickson.
