THUMBS UP: To the young man who sorted out our booking at the Bairnsdale Club last Friday, the mistake was ours but he sorted it out and was pleasant the whole time.
THUMBS DOWN: The mournful music playing in the Mall, only highlights the pitiful disgrace the mall has fallen into, ie empty wine bottles, discarded bedding at the bus shelter, urine splattered pavement and drunken abusive persons, threatening shoppers as they walk through the Mall. We need to open the road up to traffic before someone is seriously injured or attacked.
THUMBS UP: To the person who left the box of toy tractors and cars outside the fence at the Ensay Rubbish Depot. You made one little boy very happy.
THUMBS UP: To the Locksmith near Coles. Wonderful service replacing a dead car key quickly and at least 1/3 of the price quoted elsewhere. Much appreciated. Thank you.
THUMBS DOWN: To the people of all ages who are so busy that they can’t wait for the pedestrian lights in Main Street, Bairnsdale, to change to green before crossing the road. Don’t blame police for not being out and about. Be more responsible yourself.
THUMBS UP: To the person who found my wallet on Thursday night and handed it into the police station – no contents were missing. Thanks from Wombat.
THUMBS UP: Thank you to all the lovely people last Saturday morning who helped us when my car and a roo collided. There are so many good people around. Thanks.
THUMBS UP: To the Bairnsdale hospital for the polite and professional manner in which my old mother was received via ambulance last Saturday morning.
THUMBS UP: The Choir Concert at St Mary’s Church on Sunday was a credit to the organisers and participants, highlighting the depth of musical talent in our area. As a member of the audience, it was an excellent program to listen to and be part of.
THUMBS DOWN: The PA was awful and the it was an exhaustingly long day for the elderly crowd, some of whom become a bit sleepy by the end of the four-hour show.
THUMBS UP: To the ladies who came to my assistance on Mother’s Day when I had a fall on the Snowy River walking track in Orbost, a big thank you.
