A field of 49 participants were out and about on the esplanade early in Lakes Entrance last Saturday morning taking advantage of the idyllic autumn morning in the weekly parkrun.
Their mission was to walk, jog and run picturesque five kilometre course with like minded people for fun, fitness or both.
It was great to see the event attract 11 first time participants, with six people running personal best times, as members of five running groups hit the pavement.
The field was led home by Lauchlan Thompson in 18 minutes and 28 seconds, with the first female home Lauren Hemingway (22.54).
Personal best times were achieved by young Brodie Darcy (21.22), Conrad Bishop (22.28), Nicole Egan (26.26), Hannah Malone (27.00), Peter Ketting (32.49) and Coby Cuthburston (47.11)
Running clubs represented included Lakes and District Runners, Australia Post Group, Pakenham Road Runners, Correbirras and Southern Peninsula Sport-ing Club.
The Lakes Entrance parkrun began on February 3, 2018, and departs from the rotunda each Saturday morning at 8am, with a briefing is at 7.50am.
