A field of 50 participants were out and about on
the esplanade early in
Lakes Entrance last Saturday morning for the weekly parkrun, walking, jogging and running the picturesque five-kilometre course.
It was great to see the event attract 19 first-time participants, two personal best times recorded and an impressive nine different clubs represented.
William Jones led the field home in 17 minutes and 49 seconds, with the ladies’ best time recorded Bryony Hackett Evans (22.21).
Personal best times were
run by progressive teenager Brodie Darcy (21.41) and Ellie Darcy (31.14).
Running clubs represented included Pakenham Road Runners, Lakes and District Runners, Southern Peninsula Sporting Club, Australia Post Group, Lalor Running Club, Westerfoldions, Bundy Road Runners, Running in the Burbs and Purple Pacers.
The Lakes Entrance parkrun began on February 3, 2018 and departs from the rotunda each Saturday morning at 8am, with a briefing is at 7.50am.
