It was a busy time for Off the Wharf fish shop over the Easter period and they have reported good seafood sales, comparing well with last year.
The co-op doesn’t just sell to the public but has built up a solid market in wholesales to hospitality venues from Traralgon through to New South Wales which is also showing steady figures.
The Off the Wharf café was very popular, doubling its figures compared to last year, which was really pleasing for all those who have worked hard to establish the restaurant as a premium eating destination.
“We are pleased to see the café going from strength to strength, it is being well supported and getting strong reviews,” general manager for the Lakes Entrance Fishermen’s Cooperative Anthony Woodland said.
“The café is catering for everyone’s needs with affordable lunches and kid’s meals and then a little more up market for evening meals.
“We have introduced tours of the fish shop, the processing area and then up onto the viewing deck. The tours promote the fishing industry and give a history from the 1940s through to today,” Anthony said.
