The Lakes Entrance Golf Club annual championships culminated last week, with the big winners being Renee PercivaI and Mick McManus.
It was Percival’s eighth title, finishing with an impressive three round score of 249, finishing 15 shots ahead of Nadine Martin, whose efforts was enough to see her victorious in the handicap section.

Nigel Carr triumphed over both Brand and McManus to win a well-earned premier grade handicap division.
In the other divisions “B” grade championships were won by Katrina Fearnley and Neil Howell, while Bette Severs and Gerard Kelly took home the “C” grade titles.
In “D” grade Betty Martino and Graham Wells emerged victorious, Wells winning a close battle with young Charlie Symthe and Alan Taylor.
Handicap winners in the ladies were categories for the women’s Apola Weel (“B” grade), Sandi East (“C” grade) and Robyn Downing (“D grade).
On the men’s side victories to Tim Rind (“B” grade), John Timmerman (“C” grade), and junior champion Charlie Smythe (“D” grade) all took honours in their respective grades.
The highlight of the final day was the magnificent hole-in-one from Fearnley, showcasing her exceptional skill.
The course was again presented in magnificent order over the three days of the event, a credit to the dedicated staff and volunteers for their exceptional work in setting up and providing a great experience inside and outside.
