Lakes Entrance girl Kiera Watson has fit a lot into her 18 years on this earth and can now add running a dance studio to her bow.
Next Level Dance Studio will open its doors at the Lakes Entrance RSL Recreational Room today, Wednesday, April 2, at 3pm and it promises to be an afternoon of dancing and fun.
Kiera has grown up in difficult circumstances but even before she could walk or talk loved to dance. Her unstable environment and no affordable dance studios nearby meant that she could not fulfil her dream to dance straight away.
She eventually started her journey in dance locally. Kiera has also worked with many guest choreographers. She is now enrolled in a Dance and Management course through Creative Victoria and is also doing a Counselling degree.
“My own studio has been in the works for some time and now it is happening,” Kiera said.
“I wanted a dance space that was not only safe but affordable, with a positive and nurturing environment. I have a background as an Occupational Therapy assistant and worked with Neuro Diverse kids and encourage all to come and dance, no matter what your ability.
“I offer contemporary, jazz, hip hop and ballet from ages two plus, with classes starting from 3.30pm to 9pm. Class times, information and pricing are available on my website and we offer afterpay. All enrolments will take place at the studio.”
There is also an A-Troupe in the pipeline which will focus on building team chemistry, developing each dancers confidence, technique and artistry for future competitions and stage.
Kiera is not only a great dancer and teacher but has also published a book ‘Forget Me Now’, which is available through her website or at Lakes Books and Games.
