After more than a decade of singing, laughing, entertaining and raising money for various charities, Lakes Entrance Girl Singers (LEGS) are going to have a much needed rest.
The directors, John and Kay Poynton, have decided after discussion with the group, that maybe a longer break would be advantageous to all.
“There will be expressions of interest in recruiting new and current members later in the year, after all the Grey Nomads come back home,” Kay said.
“Then, if there is enough interest, we could regroup, recharge and continue into the future.
“It hasn’t been an easy decision, and it has been a huge commitment by a small core group of people, and as with a lot of community groups, keeping the ball rolling, has become difficult over the last few years.
“Apologies to all those girls who have been long standing members, some for many years, and to all those who may have been thinking of joining the group.
“Watch this space. We will post any updates in the Lakes Post and on our Facebook page,” Kay said.
