With the weather better, numbers increased for last week’s edition of the Lakes Entrance parkrun, which saw adopted local Tom Stubbs lead home 56 other competitiors.
Stubbs completed the five kilometre course in 20 minutes and 23 seconds, finishing ahead of the Traralgon Harriers’ Stephen Renehan and Jamie Hegarty (22.11), both gents running personal best times.
The first woman across the line was Lauren Hemingway (23.10) in sixth place overall.
The run, jog and walk event, that begins each week on Saturday at 8am, attracted 15 first timers and saw six new personal bests, with eight sporting clubs represented.
Others to run personal best times included Kimberley Head (23.22), Michael Bosman (23.22), Emma Terjesen (27.18) and Poppy Richardson (34.30).
Running groups represented in the event were Lakes and District Runners, Australia Post Group, Southern Peninsula Sporting Club, Traralgon Harriers, Brisbane Running Buddies, Pakenham Road Runners, Derek Zoolander Centre For Kids Who Can’t Run Good and Everlasting Fitness Group.
