After 49 years of dedication and volunteering to the Lakes Entrance community the local Lions Club has made the difficult decision to fold.
At a meeting held on January 21, 2025, members of Lakes Entrance Lions Club voted unanimously to close the club at the end of June.
“This was not an easy decision to make,” secretary Brigid Baldwin said.
“We thank all those who have contributed over the years and thank the community for its support.”
Monday night Bingo at Mechanics Hall will continue until the June closure.
Over the years, the Lions Club of Lakes Entrance has been involved in countless projects and initiatives that have benefited the community. These include fundraising for local causes, supporting youth programs, organising community events and providing assistance during times of need.
The Lions are often seen at local events, whether running a barbecue to raise funds, or volunteering their time to assist with local projects. Their commitment to service is evident in their actions and their contributions have undoubtedly made Lakes Entrance a better place.
