Last Saturday’s edition of the Lakes Entrance parkrun saw 57 people run, jog and walk the five kilometre course.
It was again great to see the event attract 17 first-time participants and see eight record personal best times clocked.
Luke Warner was the first over the finishing line at his first look at the course, clocking an impressive 20 minutes and two seconds.
Warner finished ahead of Englishmen, Tom Stubbs (20.14) and Edwards Stubbs (21.15), who registered a personal best time.
The first female across the line was Lalor Running Club’s Fiona Sherar (22.05) in fourth place overall in her Lakes Entrance parkrun.
Consistent local runner, Peta Bassett (24.31) rounded out the top 10 in another solid performance.
Other personal best times were recorded by Thomas Graham (25.44), Jodie Stubbs (26.24), Pariss McKendry (27.47), Emma Terjesen (29.16), Samantha Reynolds (38.55), Suzie Cruickshank (44.02) and Andrea Twaddle (45.42).
Running groups represented in the event were Lakes and District Runners, Southern Peninsula Sporting Club, Raring2Run, Lalor Running Club, Everlast Fitness Runners, Australia Post Group and Northern Runners and Volunteers Parkrun Club.
The Lakes Entrance parkrun was first conducted on February 3, 2018, and departs the rotunda on the Esplanade each Saturday at 8am.
